Book: The Other Side of the Story by Marian Keyes

My mother bought this book for me for Christmas and although I had a stack of others that were waiting in line to be read first, she insisted that I start it immediately. So I did…and what a fantastic read it was.

The book is funny and charming and takes you through the full gamut of emotions. The lead characters must find their way in life and have to face everything from romantic failure, being on the short end of the adultery stick (not sure if there is a long end for that one), parental separation due to mid-life crises, career failure and change, finding and re-finding true love and so on and so on. There are three main characters and each one is linked with the next so the reader gets the full 360 degree view of their lives and their situations.

Marian Keyes is brilliant and hilariously funny. This was my first foray into the world of Marian Keyes so I look forward to reading the rest of her prolific collection of novels. My mother has read them all and highly recommends each and every one of them…what more do we need!
