ARTICLESLet’s Do Lunch – Profile of A Company Making A Difference![]() Written by: Holly | August 2007 Debbie Williams Blue and Sue Pitchforth, most commonly known within Ontario’s Durham Region as the “Let’s Do Lunch Ladies” are fast becoming pillars within their community. The cosmos were certainly at work in bringing these two powerhouses together. After meeting through their children who attended school together, Debbie and Sue soon figured out that they had a synergy between them that had to be put to good use. But even they hadn’t predicted the level to which this partnership would flourish. Each woman, being a well established business owner in her own right, brought to the table a wealth of knowledge, savvy and experience…not to mention a healthy roster of contacts to get their Let’s Do Lunch networking group growing…and fast. One of the keys to their success together has been that they share a common desire to make a difference in their community and contribute to those who are less fortunate in this world. Since the inception of Let’s Do Lunch, Debbie and Sue have made it their mandate to include a different charitable beneficiary at each Let’s Do Lunch event that is held. And with an event scheduled every three months with over 200 in attendance at each function, they are really making that contribution count. Every Let’s Do Lunch luncheon consists of a lovely meal, keynote speakers, prizes and loads of mixing and mingling. Each one has a different theme which has included ‘Divas of the Trades’ which featured tradeswomen of all kinds and ‘Creative Minds Create Business’ where all attendees could explore their inner O’Keefe by painting a section of a mural. The next endeavour for the dynamic duo is Let’s Do Golf which is a special event benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities. The event is being held on September 12th at the Royal Ashburn Golf Club. This is Debbie and Sue’s first foray into golf and is poised to be a tremendous success in raising funds to support another wonderful cause. Our hats are off to these two fine “Let’s Do Lunch Ladies” as we follow them on their networking adventures.
