ARTICLESTake A Spa Day![]() Written by: Holly | February 2007 Life is so busy. We all spend so much time rushing that I’m not sure we really know what we’re rushing for. It actually becomes habit. I think that many of us succumb to the trend of making ourselves busy just because we don’t know how not to be busy. It’s also because many of us are trying so hard to achieve “the perfect life” that we stop living for the day. Busy-ness has become an epidemic and it’s time to put a stop to it. I have certainly been guilty of this myself and have decided to try a different approach. A great way to stop this trend is by scheduling some quality pampering time for yourself. One of my favourite things to do is to schedule a day with my mother and sister or a few friends (and sometimes just me and my husband) and go to the spa for a day of pampering. Facials, manicures, pedicures, massages…the works. What better way to take the stress out of your week than by unwinding and indulging. Many spas are now catering to couples and group day and half-day packages so that their clientele can enjoy sharing this relaxing time with someone they care about. What better way for a couple to enjoy one of the most romantic times of the year than by having a Valentine spa retreat together. Linda Mastrobuono of The Facial Place says, “We have had a great response to our ‘private facial parties for four’. It’s so great to see these groups of friends get together and completely relax and enjoy a fun day together.” “Our clients are very important to us and it is imperative to our business that they enjoy their time with us. We have built our reputation on providing more than just the services offered but rather an all around experience.” Having been featured nationally on television and radio programs like Canada AM, Linda is a renowned authority on the art of the spa. Look for a spa that features a serene and comfortable setting like the one at The Facial Place. Plush, comfy couches greet you upon your arrival and the environment instantly soothes the soul and relaxes you even before your first treatment begins. It’s also important to find a reputable spa that has very sanitary practices. Remember, cheap is not often the best way to go. There have been many reports in the news about bargain basement operations that provide unsanitary services. It’s not worth the risk of leaving your spa visit with a bonus fungus just to save a few dollars. The safest bet is to choose a spa that is recommended by someone you trust or by asking some questions about their practices prior to booking. Also, having a look at the environment prior to booking can really give you an idea of whether they take their business seriously and provide a clean and comfortable experience.
