Ozone Love

With the changing climate, nature has been playing some tricks on us. We’re being sent messages of warning to become more aware of how we have been taking nature and our environment for granted.

The west coast is being drilled with wintery weather that they don’t normally have to endure. On the east coast, we wondered if winter would actually come. We didn’t even need our coats to go shopping for the holidays. Most of us felt a guilty pleasure in enjoying the warm weather because we knew that the reasons for it were due to our collective disregard of the environment.

It’s very easy for many of us to go through our days figuring that what we do as individuals is completely minute in the grand scheme of things. How can we make a difference one way or another toward improving our environment?

The truth is that we can make a difference. Every time we turn out a light…or better yet turn out a light that we have already changed over to a high-efficiency bulb; every time we start to throw a water bottle or pop can in the recycle bin instead of in the garbage; every time we leave turn our cars off instead of letting them idle for too long as the exhaust fills the air; these are all ways that we can make a difference.

The other way we can make a difference is by choosing to spend our money with businesses who are dedicated to making a difference for the environment. With so much competition for our business out there, make sure that you are choosing to do business with companies who have such a mandate. Every decision we make can impact our environment.

Let’s find a way to bring about renewed hope for our children and their children. Let’s make sure that they can enjoy nature as we have. Let’s not stop being industrious but rather be environmentally industrious.
